Life Science

Improvements to the Life Science building include: interior and exterior paint, add energy efficient lighting, upgraded hardware switches, uninterrupted power supplies, new fiber runs, expanded Wi-Fi access points, classroom and conference room technology upgrades, HVAC refresh, roof replacement, and elevator replacement.


Music Building

New construction of the Music Building.

Physical Science (PS)

$1,500,000

Improvements to the Physical Science building include: interior and exterior paint, add energy efficient lighting, HVAC replacement, roof replacement, elevator replacement, add wall/sound proof barrier between PS 202 and PS 206, address air balance issues in the classrooms (rework ductwork in hallways to be less restrictive in order to push air to the southern classrooms and be less noisy).

Renovation of the General Classroom residential style army building used for swing space into a Campus Welcome Center to serve as the main hub for student programs at the Monterey Campus. Improvements would include added square footage for additional student programs such as Umoja, El Centro, Women's Center, LGBTQIA+, Career & Transfer Center, etc. along with nap pods, quiet room for meditation/prayer, outdoor lounge area with water fountain, gender neutral bathrooms/shower, private lactation room, and changing table.

A complete renovation of the Social Science building includes: new interiors and exteriors, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, seismic upgrade, new roof and windows, added storage, expanded Wi-Fi access points, smart classrooms, and computer labs.

Renovate portions of the Art Dimensional building: new interiors and exteriors, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, seismic upgrade, new roof and windows, added storage, expanded Wi-Fi access points, and smart classrooms. The program that the building supports is heavy into tech with laser scanners, laser printers, CNC machines, digital mills, all computer reliant. Robust power and data are needed for support. Program has potential for job creating enrollment at the college. Two new boilers and pumps were installed recently.

Improve portions of the Theater: new energy efficient lighting, HVAC refresh, new electrical service and new sound system.

Renovate portions of the Adaptive PE/Dance building: new interiors, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, seismic upgrade, new roof and windows, and added storage.

Improvements to the Early Childhood Education building include: interior and exterior paint, replace flooring, add energy efficient lighting, upgraded hardware switches, uninterrupted power supplies, new fiber runs, expanded Wi-Fi access points, classroom technology upgrades, new Building Management System (BMS), door hardware replacement, new roofs, replacement of HVAC equipment, kitchen equipment upgrades, window shade retrofits, and site improvements to play structures including phase three outdoor learning center.

Improve portions of the Baseball Field: new concessions booth, entrance, restrooms, team and coaching spaces/rooms, replace dugouts, new sports lights, batting cages and fencing, and
add wi-fi.

Improve portions of the Football Field and Track: refinish track, replace sports lights, defined entrance, recoat fencing, and stadium wi-fi.

Improve portions of the Softball Field: replace outfield turf, replace netting, add bleachers seating, and wi-fi.

Temporary space was planned to house programs and services displaced by modernization projects. Scope of work includes fixing up the swing space from the last bond at the portable village MT1-6, the Gym Portable, and potentially using some open classrooms in the Gym, College Center, International Center, etc.

Improve portions of the existing Student Services building: interior and exterior paint, replace flooring, add energy efficient lighting, upgraded hardware switches, uninterrupted power supplies, new fiber runs, expanded Wi-Fi access points, upgrade smart conference rooms, new Building Management System (BMS), replace roof, replace HVAC, replace elevator, refinish handrails, address leaks and poor drainage.

Add gender-neutral locker rooms in the Gym and Fitness Center.

The expansion of the Marina Education Center campus may include: new buildings to the east of the existing campus with Science, Nursing, Hospitality, Student Services/Support/Facilities, and Early Childhood Education

Improve portions of the existing Marina Education Center: interior and exterior paint, add energy efficient lighting, gender-neutral restroom retrofit, and landscape upgrades.

New Emergency Operations Training Course at the Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT) site includes: four-story fire training tower, pistol and rifle ranges, indoor and outdoor instructional areas, and evacuation course. Scope includes bringing all new utilities into Fort Ord to support the new center.

Construction of a new district Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP).

Add/replace fiber infrastructure and add/replace wireless access points.

New servers, switches, uninterrupted power source, and wireless access points at buildings that did not receive full renovation scope.

Convert eight restrooms across campuses into gender-neutral.
